ABEF and Congress WBN Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Saturday 27 October 2007.

ST Johns, Antigua. The President of the Antigua & Barbuda Employers Federation (ABEF) and the President of Congress WBN (C-WBN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 27th October, 2007, formalizing their intent to work together and paving the way for the design, scheduling and delivery of values-based leadership development and training programmes.

Welcoming the agreement, ABEF President, Patrick Ryan said, “I am pleased that ABEF and C-WBN will be working closely together to train and impact our members. This can only serve to raise awareness of the role of values-based leadership in the Antigua & Barbuda.”

Dr. Noel Woodroffe, Founder and President of Congress WBN, said, “C-WBN operates globally and, as a Caribbean-birthed and based development entity, we believe that our investment in Caribbean development validates and authenticates our global thrust to the nations. We look forward to forging a close and synergistic working relationship with ABEF.”

According to Dr. Woodroffe, “Both our organisations recognize the importance of values-based leadership and holistic management and business development. We also agree that this is a key platform for the transformative development and regional advance in the Caribbean. By signing this MOU, we are committing to planning work together to maximize the effectiveness and quality of ABEF programmes and strategies.”

The ABEF was established in December 1950 under the Trade Union Act of 1939, as a representative organization of employers in Antigua & Barbuda and has contributed significantly since that time to a stable industrial relations climate in the country. It has a current membership of one hundred and thirty-three businesses.

C-WBN is as a synergy of global initiatives focused on effecting human, social and national transformation through the propagation of values-based development principles, patterns and approaches. It is comprised of eight sectors of strategic operations involving networks of professional groups, educational institutions, businesses, national leaders and global technology initiatives. C-WBN functions out of the primary base in Trinidad and Tobago and operates in over 70 nations with executive offices in Trinidad and Tobago and in London, UK.

The purpose of the visit was to continue discussions aimed at strengthening the C-WBN / BCCI relationship and to advance plans for the establishment of a strategic partnership in the area of Leadership Development training for BCCI members.

The meeting, which was chaired by Chamber President, Emile Mena, included the BCCI Executive Director, Kevin Herrera and covered a wide range of important issues pertinent to Caribbean development and the nation of Belize in particular.

As a result of this strategic meeting, Congress WBN has been invited by the Chamber President to participate in an exercise to define a National Framework for Development for presentation to the government of Belize. In addition, Chamber members agreed to formalize the relationship with C-WBN by ratifying of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between C-WBN and BCCI and finalizing a structure for a Leadership Development program. In this regard, Ernest King, Director, Congress Global Consulting is expected to travel to Belize shortly to further discussions with BCCI’s Kevin Herrera.

All of the massive support, governmental prayer, and strategic planning allowed Congress to enter the land and region of Japan with maximum impact and spiritual impartation. With 4 of the 6 Congress core apostolic team present (Noel Woodroffe, Scott Webster, Steve Schultz & David Copp), along with 4 Senior Development Coordinators (Chris Berkley, Max Warren, Wingrove Spencer, & Suresh Ghunah), Wesley Boynes (Coordinator from Jamaica), Bridging The Gap Network was accurately and collaboratively brought to birth. Joining the Congress Leadership were Lana Copp (wife of Dave Copp), Stephanie Copp, Davie Copp, and 3 members from Metro City Church in San Bernadino (A KCN Community).

Wednesday, May 9

The international contingent flew into Copp's land arriving in Narita to escorted initially down to Okayama, and finally Kurashiki, the location of BTG's launch. After traveling a couple dozen hours, the team finished the night with noodles and rice before heading off to sleep in the Toyoko Hotel, next to the Kurashiki train station.

Thursday, May 10

Thursday morning began with breakfast together at Kohikan, Japan's version of Starbucks, consisting of scrambled eggs, a slice of ham (disguised as bologna), and some coffee. After breakfast the apostolic core team, along with Davie Copp met to strategize the way forward in our three days of meetings. It was decided that the blueprint for these meetings would be that first we would 'birth' BTG, second we would 'shape or define it', both prophetically and apostolically, and last we would define the requirement of those who had heard and seen. Thus, Thursday night would be a time of birthing with Copp, Sr., Friday a time of definition with Woodroffe, Schultz, and Webster, and Saturday a time of response into the way forward with Copp Sr., & Copp, Jr.

Dr. Woodroffe and Dave Copp stand on the balcony
of the restaurant overlooking the bridge
that inspired the name for the new network.

The agenda for the rest of the morning led us all to meet with Pastor Hisamatsu (BTG's Japanese coordinator) and have lunch together at Seto-O-Hashi, a massive bridging that bridges several islands in the Japan Sea, the location just outside of Okayama where the prophetic picture of Bridging The Gap was downloaded to Copp. Piling into two vans we drove through the local villages and arrived high up on a hill to be greeted by a sudden and totally unexpected windstorm. The weather both before and after that lunch at Seto-O-Hashi was absolutely perfect, warm and sunny, yet that morning and afternoon the winds kicked up to almost typhoon levels as if the wind of the Spirit was signifying a new blowing in the region.

Here is the entire contingent from the CWBN who made it across to Japan for the Launch.

We ate a lunch of steak and/or fish overlooking the majestic and breathtaking sight of the bridge that spanned those gaps between several islands. Their was a solemn yet joyful sense of satisfaction as we talk and laughed together in a new place and a new time. Copp welcomed us all with some comments about the day last November in which he sat here and the Lord spoke to him about the need to 'bridge the gap' in Japan and design a network that would allow Congress and apostolic reformation to reach into Japan and allow Japan to have access to a portal that would open them up to the nations of the world. As we all left the building and gathered for pictures overlooking the bridge, the expectation and sense of a successful launch and birthing could already be felt.

That night at 7.00 p.m. we gathered together at a rented community center which seated about 250-300 people. As we entered the hall we were greeted by the members of Christ Church, Kurashiki, Hisamatsu's community members. You could feel the sense of expectancy and spiritual buzz in the air as about 150-200 people began to flow into the building for that first night's meeting. There were about 25 pastors in attendance, with about 15 being core, committed members who had been meeting together for the last two years, and the remaining 10 had come to see what God was doing.

Copp opened the Launch with a download of the prophetic commission to birth BTG given to him over 40 years ago when a prophetic word offered to him the choice to be either a 'fig', a 'fig tree', or a 'fig orchard'. The last 40 years of ministry has been the 'fig' and 'fig tree' phase, but now they were entering into the 'fig orchard' phase of prophetic fulfillment. The impact of walking in prophetic history and fulfillment was massively felt when he showed a powerpoint slide of a fig, and then a fig tree, and finally a fig orchard and showed us that we were at present a single fig on a fig tree, but that the Lord was leading us to become a fig orchard! As we all left the building we were walking a powerful understanding that something that had been prophesied long ago was the path on which we were presently walking.

Friday, May 11

Morning began again with coffee, eggs, 'ham' at Kohikan, after which we tumbled into our vans for the sessions at the Kurashiki Community Center. The day sessions were primarily for pastors and leaders, and almost a hundred gathered to see what the Lord would do today. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and united chatter over what God was doing in this birthing.

Prophetic ministry being delivered to the Japanese pastors.

Webster and Schultz divided the first session bringing a important and needed release of accurate and current prophetic speaking into the foundational reality of what was being birthed and launched. They focused on the building nature of the prophetic, as opposed to the old system of prophetic ministry centered on blessing the people through prophetic gifting and ministry.

Webster began by examining some faults of the old prophetic system, that 1) ìProphetic ministry operated outside of operational apostolic ministry and thus lacked understanding of personal identityî and, 2) 'It was primarily focused on and based in Church and Church services and not on the wider Kingdom of God and thus relevant to and in all areas of life'.

Schultz continued with this theme focusing on the Book of Haggai and looking at five things that are required to build inside of BTG. They are, 1) Prophets who are prepared to build, 2) People who are willing to move from a blessing mentality to a building mentality, 3) Leadership who are strong enough to receive the building dimension, 4) A systematic downloading of present day truth, and 5) A people who are willing to hear and obey.

Following the teaching Schultz made several prophetic declarations regarding the divine planting of the fig tree for a fig orchard, and the fact that God had made David Copp & BTG His signet ring with which He would stamp Japan and the surrounding nations of Asia and the Pacific Rim by the sacrifice, dedication, and accuracy of US!

Dr. Woodroffe took the final session of the morning and focused on 'Moving Into A New Season' and that which is required by God in order to align accurately to the desires of the vineyard owner. We saw that God expects fruit at the right time, and centered on the timing of God in releasing this season of fruitfulness in the life of David Copp and that 'What is at stake is a dimension of fruit that God wants to bring forth from a person's life.

He then continued by looking at what 'new wine' and 'new wineskins' meant for us in the context of BTG. 'New Wine' is, 1) The birthing of a new apostolic network, 2) Capacity to Pioneer, 3) New dimensions of leadership, 4) New systems being put into the earth in other regions, and 5) God's insistence that His standards have to be kept.

The 'New Wineskins' consist in, 1) New mentalities and thinking systems, 2) New ways of working together, 3) Discovery of new ranking systems, 4) A brand new concern that rises within as more people come to walk with us in the new generation. Dr. Woodroffe finished with the thought that 'If the Lord delights in us we will be fruitful', and the declaration that indeed the Lord is delighted in us!

The apostolic grace flowing from Dr. Woodroffe was palpable and all sensed strongly that this was not just another meeting, but was truly an apostolic birthing of an apostolic network!

After an afternoon of electronics shopping and a brief, but needed nap, Friday PM came upon up and was Dr. Woodroffe's last session. Again, the meeting hall was filled with tangible excitement and pregnant buzz among all who were there. One interesting side note was the presence of a reporter for the Japan Evangelical Times. He had recently done an article on Hisamatsu's church, and the fact that it had grown since coming into Reformation. The reporter had come to do a follow-up report on this apostolic network being birthed in Japan. He interviewed both Dr. Woodroffe and Copp, focusing what the difference was in BTG and other so-called apostolic definitions that have recently flooded Japan.

Dr. Woodroffe filled Friday night talking about the context of BTG being the wider Congress and the massive resourcing available as a result. We saw clearly that BTG does not stand alone, but imbedded in KCN and Related Networks and a global kingdom reality called Congress WBN. In order to resource the new season the following was required: 1) Macro sight in perceiving the global context (the spiritual landscape of Congress WBN, 2) Impartation of apostolic grace (From the storehouse of David Copp's personal grace & the corporate apostolic grace of Congress WBN).

Dr. Woodroffe's apostolic grace was again significantly evident and felt by all, many for first time encountering true apostolic grace. The lessons learned and patterns created by the birthing of WBN and then Congress WBN were clearly available and being built upon in the launching of BTG. We all marveled at how different and accurate the launching of BTG is safely ensconced in the strength and accuracy of Congress WBN

Saturday, May 12

Saturday morning was the final session for the birthing of BTG. Copp, Jr. spent the first session talking about the primary requirement in moving forward into BTG being the need to forget the past. Focusing on the obedient death of the unfruitful fig tree according to the Lord's cursing of it, all were encourage to leave the past and move into a new fruitful future out of which would come a capacity to give to those in the future the 'fig cakes' of our network life.

Copp Sr., finished the launch with some final comments on the movement forward announcing several immediate initiatives on the horizon. First, the BTG event in Long Beach in July of this year, celebrating Copp's 70th birthday. Second, another BTG event in Japan in September in which specific definition of the way forward would be discussed. Future components such as a website, seminars, etc. were also put on the map.

All senior leaders present were given the opportunity to respond in writing their desire and intention to walk with BTG into the secure, but yet unknown future. Many responded with an emphatic 'YES', and the comments were nothing but positive.

The final activity of the Launch was the prophetic ministering to BTG's three primary Japanese leaders with their wives. The Hisamatsu, Kimura, and Mukai couples were ministered to prophetically by the team and the impartation reached not only into their lives, but deep into the essence of BTG itself as whole and set us upon an accurate and God-filled path of success.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Bridging the Gap Network Banner

All who came did so with a spirit of expectancy and prophetic curiosity regarding what an apostolic birthing of an apostolic network would look and feel like. All left feeling a sense of awe at the goodness and accuracy of the Lord, filled with a confidence that success is not only possible, but already accomplished.

The massive presence of Congress Leadership created a weightiness in the Spirit that anchored the event in the rich and accurate history of God's doings with Dr. Woodroffe, Elijah Centre, WBN, and Congress WBN.

The prophetic word hovering over the life of David Copp burst into fulfillment in a manner similar to the day of Pentecost so that we could clearly say, 'This is that' which was prophesied over 40 years ago to a young man and his wife on their way to the land of the rising sun.

The doings of God in the past 40 years, and most recent 2 or 3 years, can now be clearly seen and understood as the Lord preparing the way for a massive intrusion into not only the nation of Japan, but the surrounding jurisdiction of Asia. Clearly a foundational pillar has been laid upon which Congress WBN can build into the Pacific Rim nations.

Governmental Prayer must continue in the following areas:

Successful processing of that which was downloaded into the spiritual atmosphere and hearts of those present

Diligent guarding of the embryo that has been birthed and its initial growth process

Apostolic wisdom and grace for the designing of the infrastructure and consequential events that will shape the early days of BTG

Accurate heart-response and joinings among those who have committed to walk together into the future of Bridging The Gap

The rise and clear sighting of BTG in light of surrounding inaccurate 'apostolic and prophetic' models filling the Japan landscape
